Right now, the creative business activity on platforms like YouTube and Instagram looks a lot like the future economic model — there are a few big winners and a lot of people hustling to make a living and barely getting by. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Platforms can be — and sometimes they already are — the new means for the Kenyan Dream, offering a stable, middle-class standard of living.
